Niton XRF Metal Analyzer
A Niton XRF metal analzyer is a must at any metal recycling facility. There are various metals that can only be identified by using an x-ray fluorescene analyzer. We have two metal analyzer guns to tell us exactly what kind of metal our customers have, so we pay exactly what your metal is worth.
Scrap Dragon Software
We use the Scrap Dragon system software for all our scrap buying, selling, inventory, and reporting. We can quickly access every one of our customers, buyers, and shipping companies by barcode scan, company name, or last name. This system keeps a detailed history of every transaction that goes over our scales. All we have to do is select the person or company, the commodity we are weighing, and click 'read scale'. The weight is automatically uploaded into the customers ticket and a picture is taken of the material on the scale simultaneously. Every customer and driver gets a computer printed ticket with all the information about your transaction. With this system all we have to do is access the customer's file, select a start date and end date for the report, and then print a check. Scrap Dragon makes scrap buying and selling fast, efficient and most importantly, accurate.
Scales
At the SherBro-Green Metals facility, we have 5 scales. Our main underground truck scale is 40 feet long by 10 feet wide and is 10 feet underground. This scale can weigh up to 120,000 pounds in increments of 20 pounds. If a truck weighs more than that, our Scrap Dragon software allows us to weigh the front axle then weigh the rear axles. There are two cameras right above this scale that take pictures when we read the weight.
Our facility has three warehouse scales, all of which are integrated into our software system. The first and second scales weight measure 6 feet by 6 feet and 4 feet by 4 feet, respectively, and can weigh up to 10,000 pounds and is mainly used for nonferrous material and material we sort and or upgrade. Our third warehouse scale measures 6 feet by 6 feet and can weigh up to 10,000 pounds. We mainly use this scale for shipping our nonferrous material.
Our facility also has a railroad scale to weigh rail cars.

Cutting-edge Cameras
We have high resolution cameras over all our scales that are integrated into our software system. We also have cameras set up around our yard and throughout our warehouses. We use these cameras to keep an eye on production, safety, and security. They allow us to see potential hazards that arise so that we maintain a safe yard for everyone. Scrap theft is a significant problem in our industry. Our high resolution and night vision cameras have successfully led to the arrest and prosecution of thieves we had in our yard.
